If It Were Mini: All Creatures Great and Small Living Room

It's safe to say that I've rearranged the furniture in this dollhouse living room more than I have in my actual living room -- and not just because it's easier.

I think this is where I'll stop:

This is where we left it in the video:

I'm learning a lot about how things show up on camera versus how they look in real life. The lace panels on the window appear too bright and chunky in the picture, so they're out. I also thought it would be neat to wrap the curtains around the window seat to make it secluded, but it just looks messy.

So, I spent a little more time tucking things in and I'm pretty happy with the result.

I wanted the fireplace surround to look like stone. It was originally a glossy white finish, and as I was sanding it, I realized that the sandpaper looked like limestone, so on it went.

The errant sprig of greenery on the floor went un-noticed until after the pictures were all uploaded.

Zoe, the fimo cat hiding under the curtain, is over 30 years old. She's playing with cribbage cards. (By the way, you know what makes good miniature cribbage game pegs? Spaghetti.)

I shortened the bookcases in the corner. I did have them full height because that's what they are on the show, but they were just too overwhelming in small scale.

Here's how that looked:

For comparison, how the room looks on the show:

I think I got it pretty close. And now, looking at it again makes me want to re-arrange it yet another time.

We'll see. I'm working on the vet exam room now, and there's plenty there to keep me busy instead....
