If It Were Mini: Lucy's House, Westport, Connecticut
The set was first shown in season 6, episode 15, Lucy Wants to Move to the Country. Here's how it looked with the previous owners, the Spaldings:
In the episode we learn that the house is over 100 years old, and Lucy and Ethel rave about the old beams and fireplaces.
The Spaldings must have sold the Ricardos some of their furniture, like the double globe lamp...
and the brass medallion plate on the mantel:
Here's how it looked right after the Ricardos moved in with their apartment furniture:
Three episodes later, Lucy Gets Chummy with the Neighbors and gets all new furniture:
I didn't get all new furniture for this project-- I tried to make as many pieces as I could.
I carved one of the twin sofas out of floral foam, and made the piano from a box and miniature shelf.
The dutch door opens. The plates are Lucy's Franciscan Ivy pattern, and I used AI to colorize the artwork throughout.
I had originally planned to create the entire house inside this Sylvanian Families dollhouse, and quickly outgrew that idea!
I only used half of it to create the foyer and Lucy and Ricky's bedroom upstairs:
Couldn't forget little Fred, the cairn terrier!
The pictures are Grandma Moses prints that hung in their apartment, and I included a little ashtray by the beds. Here's my inspiration picture:
I hid packages inside the closet...
Made corbels out of the number 3...
Made mattresses from raisin boxes:
And made chicks --episode 19 Lucy Raises Chickens-- out of a fuzzy goldenrod stem and sunflower stickers:
