Stanmore Drive, Houston, Texas

Back when I first started blogging, I kept a spreadsheet of houses that I liked but didn't show on the blog, for whatever reason. I had notes for them, like, "built in 1786 for stove manufacturer Colonel Birdsong, but pictures are too grainy to use." It was a research head start for when they came back on the market.

If I was still keeping that spreadsheet, I think my notes for this house would just say that it was professionally pretty. It just came up for sale (again).

It's a 1937 classic home in Houston's River Oaks neighborhood.

I may have saved it because it appears professionally decorated--but I'm not sure by whom.

It's not just anyone who puts a high-gloss lacquered finish on their walls, after all.

The framed Gracie wallpaper panels and antique textile appear carefully selected for this room.

Another designer touch is the shimmering dining room's Ralph Lauren Marlowe Floral Dove wallpaper

The family room and kitchen appear to have been recently refreshed.

The same can be said for this wall of cabinetry that leads to a possible new addition den/sunroom:

The adjacent powder room also has a designer moment:

It's papered in Pierre Frey's Toile de Nantes in Bleu. When I tried to find this house's designer by image matching this bathroom, I got a few more results than I expected:

...and that's not even searching on Pinterest. Now you know which paper to use for your bathroom if you want to be right on trend! This pretty bathroom's wallpaper below would be a good runner-up choice:

There are five bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms in 8,276 square feet.

This landing area and master suite are especially charming:

The same color palette is used in the next two bedrooms:

Luckily for me, they didn't decorate this next one!

If it were mine, I'd follow this "calligraphy style" design with a similar color palette:

I would do the same in the home office, turning it from this:

to this:

The last designer moment is here in the courtyard:

With all of the house's pretty touches, it's easy to imagine that this dining set is just out of camera view:

If you recognize who designed this house, let me know. I may just have to start up that old spreadsheet again.

The listing is here.
