If It Were Mini: All Creatures Great and Small Dining Room

 

Initially I wasn't planning to re-create the dining room on the show. Then I found a perfect mini-match for the wallpaper and there was no stopping the idea.

I included Tricki Woo the Pekingese and his hamper of treats because I used the picture below as my decorating guide:

I was able to cobble together a room box from other projects. It only took me three days to finish. I'm not sure if I'm being sarcastic when I say 'only'.

I added a bit of burlap to the chair backs to make them appear to have cane backs.

The object on the bar cart looks like a dinosaur from some angles, but is really a dog. The show has a horse there, but I used what I had and it seemed appropriate.

Here you can see a bit of the radio cabinet. The pewter tankard and mantel clock are very similar to those on the show. The tiny shells are from the lake where my grandparents had a cottage, and I've kept them safe on that fireplace for a very long time.

I put a corner cabinet in the last corner, but couldn't get a good picture of that angle in the room. Here it is, though:

And speaking of cabinets, that brings me to my next project, decorating for Christmas!
