If It Were Mini: Monet's Kitchen
We've all seen those decorative gift boxes that look like a book on the outside -- and while they might be perfect to present a present, I've learned they can also make a pretty spiffy miniature room.
Specifically, a Monet-themed book box turned into a replica of his kitchen. It just needed some tiles --- lots and lots of blue and white tiles! My daughter joked that now I have a Monet travel playset.

Here's my version of it:
Miniatures can be expensive, so I like to challenge myself to make as many things as I can. I made the copper pans from the blister packs of vitamin capsules.
I made all the pitchers above the range and also its pot filler.
The sink was a smaller scale toy, so I built a cabinet to make it taller. The before:
I made the fireplace stand and surround out of half of a mints tin.
The shutter clasps came straight out of my sewing supplies stash.
I'm also working on Monet's gallery studio, based off of this photo:
