Pacific Avenue, Terrell, Texas

Hannah Banana, Mystic Lake, and Fresh Clay. I'm making a motion that Terrell, Texas should adopt these as their official historic house paint colors.

We'll start with this 1880 Victorian on Pacific Avenue, because its pretty interior color choices need to be brought outside.

This is what it looks like currently:

It's very charming, but a house that has a sunroom completely draped in floral fabric from head to toe should not have a plain vanilla exterior.

I went looking around the neighborhood for house color inspiration and found that yellow was a safe bet:

I got to work and turned this...

into this...

to better coordinate with this:

It looks like the foyer can also double for dining, since the house doesn't have a designated dining room.

The living room is next to it:

I would take down the shelves by the fireplace. They're too busy, and besides, there are plenty more elsewhere in the house. I like the look below better:

Or, since we'd probably want to keep the existing fireplace, it would look like this:

The sunroom with the abundance of fabric opens off of this room:

If it were mine, I would lighten it up like this:

That brings us to the kitchen:

This is the house's only designated dining area, and has display shelves to make up for what I'd take out.

I think it would look nice with this table and chair set, below:

This bedroom, bathroom, and porch round out the listing photos for the first floor:

Upstairs is one more bedroom (there are three total, one downstairs un-pictured) with its own bathroom. The house has 2,549 square feet.

The un-pictured bedroom is in the wing to the left of the screened-in porch:

The house sits on a little over half an acre, which is great considering its proximity to downtown.

That proximity comes in handy when there are downtown events, like this weekend's Terrell Taco Festival. Maybe my historic paint colors idea would get more traction if Hannah Banana, Mystic Lake, and Fresh Clay were called Taco Shell, Lettuce Leaf, and Tomato Red instead.

The listing is here.

In case you missed it, my latest dollhouse post on the All Creatures Great and Small living room is here.
